One day a few years ago we let our Cocker Spaniel, Mocha, out after a heavy snow storm. Due to an abundance of wildlife (rabbits, rattlesnakes, deer, etc.) we normally keep Mocha on a leash as she tends to get distracted by all the smells and rarely comes when called. This particular day we figured it would be easy to find her by tracking her footprints in the snow and she would tire easily trying to break trail. She zoomed around the yard with her long ears flying in the wind.
Material: Bronze
Size: 7" H x 12" D x 4" W
This is an example of three different Patina's on the same sculpture. On the left is the traditional French Brown, in the middle a version with acrylic that matches Mocha's actual colors, and on the right a version done for a friend in the colors of her Cocker Spaniel.

Around our house you have to be careful when you go out at night in the summertime. That is when the Toads come out. If your not careful its easy to step on one of them as they seem to be everywhere.

This is a photo of one of the many toads we find around our house in the summer. I was the inspiration for Toad Talks.

While looking out my study window I noticed a BobCat one morning sitting about 3 feet in front of the window. I called out to Sue to get our camera and as I took the shot she exclaimed “Oh No! I just let the chickens out!” She scrambled out to herd them back in before the cat got their scent. That picture shown here was the starting point for this sculpture.

Many times in life we are faced with decisions which could dramatically affect our lives going forward. When making big decisions, we need to slow down to a snail's pace, weigh our options carefully before we take the big leap.
The Dilema was inspired by a photograph of a snail we found on a step in Oregon.

Here is the finished clay sculpture of The Dilema ready for the wax process.

When Sue was working at a Girl Scout camp one summer, her and the other counselors used to play “Rock-the-Boat”. The object of the game was to try and knock each other off the canoe. The game was also played by the counselors at the Boy Scout Hi Adventure base which our sons attended. It was that game that was the inspiration for this piece.
